The Young Innovator’s Club is one of Protik’s most important projects and one of its success stories so far. This club is formed by talented kids (11-16 years old) who have exceptional technology-related skills and a keen interest to further develop these skills. Protik provide the club with study and working materials, with a place where to meet and work, and it also looks for educational opportunities within the ICT network.
The club meets regularly at Protik’s premises, where they share experiences and knowledge, develop new ideas, and are introduced to new learning opportunities. Initially it was composed of 5 kids, but the number of members grew in time. Currently, the Young Innovator’s Club brings together 9 kids.
Until now the children have worked on several interesting projects. They have created a robot remotely controllable from anywhere, have programmed the control interface, and have developed some very challenging software. There is yet much more to come!
To promote their first product “the small robot”, the kids were invited to the “SHIH PROGRAMIN” Show on National Public Television on March the 14th, 2013 at 21:00 o’clock. During the show, the kids gave a demonstration of the robot’s capabilities and discussed how they could improve it in the future.
A technology enthusiast, Mr. Lame, after watching the Young Innovators Club work and passion on television, contacted Protik’s staff to donate a small educational robot. He also donated some electronic equipment needed for working with microcontrollers and robotics. Mr. Lame attached a letter to the donation stating that he really appreciated the fact that today there are projects that support these young and talented kids who love to work on technology.
