The innovation week organized by the Minister for Innovation and Public Administration (MIAP), was the most important event during this year. The main purpose of this week was the opening to the public and the presentation of what is Innovation, its essence, and how Innovation can affect the everyday life. Protik organized more than six events during this week with the focus on promoting new services, young innovators, students, woman and civil society.One of the events worth mentioning during the “Innovation Week” was the winners’ announcement of the competition “Open Data Experience”. This competition and aimed to encourage students of public and private educational institutions, who are software developers to create innovative Facebook /Web applications. In the framework of the Open Government Partnership, this application will help to create open and transparent governance for citizens, promoting the implementation of best practices and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the management of governmental data. Using such an application will facilitate public access to government data, provided by the public administration.The first place: The “HEALTH” application was presented by students from private University Epoka; Sabri Nuzi, Nertil Zhuri, Sidrit Reka. “HEALTH” is a web application, which offers a large amount of useful information about the public health. The application provides information received from the Ministry of Health and Albanian Health Insurance Institute, in order to make this information easier for the citizens. This application, provide different information about medical centers, doctors, pharmacies, and various initiatives taken by the medical authorities. This application enables his users to find the nearest medical center, doctors and pharmacies, by a very simple search. Another application section is the medicines one, where are presented general information for registered medicines. The application is under development, but soon it will be available with all his functions. For the moment, you can find this application in www.bit.ly/shendeti.The second place: “THE OPEN BUDGET” application was created by students of the Polytechnic University of Tiran; Bruna Rizvanolli, Grigor Malo, Jona Rizvanolli. The main purpose of this application is the visualization of the Albanian budgets for 2011 until 2014 and making them available for everyone. The interactivity with the users of this application is the most interesting thing. It gives a chance to every user to express their opinion thought a modest voting for each item of the budget, creating a new, alternative budget somewhat democratic. The application is available in www.tablo-al.comThird place: the “MY GRADUATION” application was created by students of the Polytechnic University of Tirana; Ilir Kola, Ralvi Isufaj, Thimjo Koça e Xhuli Kondakçiu. “MY GRADUATION” aims to help the Albanian students. They can find there valuable information regarding the studying programmers offered by the public Universities of Albania, a study fields description and also different statistics about graduation process through years. Also the feature of registration and notification in real time of exam results and the university programs gains is available.
